State Higher Educational Establishment «Belarusian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education», one of the oldest higher schools in the CIS, invites physicians and other specialists engaged in the health care system to advance and improve the level of their qualification. Belarusian and foreign physicians having got higher medical education in CIS countries and abroad are welcome to undergo post-graduate training, doctorship and clinical residency at the Academy.
Our Academy was founded in 1931; in 2006 we celebrated its 75th anniversary. Today it is a unique educational, teaching and scientific center implementing the system of continuous advanced training and certification of physicians, medical teachers and scientists in the Republic of Belarus.
About 18 000 doctors and 12 000 specialists with medium-level medical education improve their qualification annually at 51 departments of the Academy. More than 500 doctors including foreign citizens from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Near East study at doctorship, post-graduate courses and clinical residency.
The Academy has a highly qualified scientific and teaching staff. These are 2 Academicians, 2 Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 68 Doctors of Medicine and more than 200 PhDs..
The Academy comprises 5 Faculties: Pediatrics Faculty, Dentistry Faculty, Therapy Faculty, Social Medicine and Health Resources Management Faculty, Surgery Faculty and the Center for Medium-Level Medical and Pharmaceutical Education.
Scientific and teaching staff of the Academy is being trained on the base of the Central Research Laboratory where the Center for collective use of the research facilities has been created and accredited. Due to strong intellectual potential and the unique up-to date equipment of the Center, the Academy received a well-deserved recognition as the base for training highly qualified scientific personnel and for creating new medical technologies for prophylaxis and treatment of many diseases, and where 159 candidate theses are under way.
Great assistance in conducting the teaching process and certification is provided by the Center for Information Technologies: creation of WEB portal of the Academy, development of the original program for doctor’s certification.
Professor’s Medical and Consultative Center has been opened at the Academy , which brought highly-qualified medical care nearer to the population of the republic of Belarus..
Close cooperation of our Academy with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, National Medical Academies of Post-Graduate Education in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, as well with Medical Academy in Bialostok (Poland), Hiroshima University (Japan), Ankara and Hacettepe University (Turkey) is the evidence of a great prestige of our Academy. |
