100% of the teaching staff has an academic degree: there are 2 Doctors of Medical Sciences, 4 Candidates of Medical Sciences. 83, 3% of the teaching staff has an academic rank: there are two associate professors and one professor. Professor Barabanov L.G., professor Pankratov O.V., associate professor Levonchuk E.A. and an assistant Yahnitsky G.G. have a high category on the specialty « Dermatovenereology», associate professor Papy N.A. – on the specialty «Cosmetology». Associate professor Shimanskaya I.G. has the first category on the specialty «Dermatovenereology».
History of the subdepartment The subdepartment of dermatovenereology was founded in 1946. Until 1949 only one person worked there– assistant Shimanovich Anna Nikolaevna. From 1949 to 1950 professor Degtyar Anastasia Yakovlevna was head of the department.
Since 1951the subdepartment had been managed by the associate professor Pavlov Nicolay Fedorovich. He was a prominent Soviet dermatovenereologist, the leading leprologist of the country. In 1958 he became a rector of the Academy.
After his death, an associate professor Piltienko Ludmila Fedorovna had been in charge of the department until 1969. In 1969 professor Korolev Yury Fedorovich became the head of the department. He contributed a lot into the treating methods of pyodermas, seborrhea, syphilis, he gave a special consideration to the treatment and medical examination of patients suffered from skin lymphomas. Y.F. Korolev was the author of 2 monographs and more than 200 scientific works.
In 1989 Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor Barabanov Leonid Gennadyevich, was chosen as a head of the department. After graduating from the Minsk State Medical University in 1973 Barabanov L.G. worked as an associate, and then as a senior scientist, head of the department of the Belarusian Scientific and Research Dermatovenereological Institute.
City Dermatovenereological Dispensary
There are 365 beds in the City Dermatovenereological Dispensary. The structure of the City Dermatovenereological Dispensary in Minsk:
- 1 venereological, 1 mycological and 3 dermatological departments;
- Outpatients’ clinic for1200 visits a day;
- Department of medical rehabilitation;
- Physiotherapeutic department;
- 3 laboratories, including 2 – centralized: bacteriological and serological;
- 2 branches (ambulant-polyclinic reception).
There are 8 rooms for the teaching staff, leading laboratory assistants, graduate students and resident doctors. Besides, there are two treatment rooms and two lecture rooms at the dermatovenereological department. The department is equipped with modern facilities. There are 3 computers, multimedia projector, laser printer, instant camera, scanner, overhead-projector with a screen.
Teaching at the subdepartment: The subdepartment organizes courses of advanced training for dermatovenerologists, urologists, obstetrician-gynecologists, cosmetologists, specialists of the laboratory diagnostics, laboratory assistants. There are also retraining courses in “Cosmetology” (312 hours)
Scientific researches at the subdepartment
Aims of scientific researches at the subdepartment:
resolving problems connected with the medical dermatovenerological health care provision to the population;
- research of aetiology and pathogenesis of drug affections of skin; allergic angiitis of skin, psoriasis, skin lymphoma, alopecia hear falling;
- Immune and hormone disorders with skin and venerological diseases, nerve and immune system at complex psychotherapy of atopic neurodermatitis;
- studying the questions of pathogeny, clinic, diagnostics, treatment and prophylaxis of syphilis among children and pregnant women;
- working out of new treatment methods.
According to the plan of the scientific researches at the subdepartment, 6 topics have been planned:
- Screening of pretumor uterine neck diseases with women being infected due to sexual contacts (date of term – 2009 ?.).
- Correction of biogen amine metabolism disorders with patients suffered from eczema (Date of term – 2010 ?.).
- Optimization of work connected with sexually transmitted diseases in Belarus (is carried out in the framework of the international agreement on mutual cooperation between Belarus and Sweden. Term date - 2010).
- Diagnostics of systemic infectious process with Reiter’s syndrome and psoriatic arthritis, associated with Chlamidia infection (Term date - 2011).
- Complex treatment by polymorphous dermal angiitis (is performed as a Candidate’s dissertation by the graduate Krumkachev V.V. Term date – 2011).
- The dynamics of life quality of children suffered from chronic dermatosis and a complex therapy (is performed as a Candidate’s dissertation by the graduate Evdokimov E.L. Term date - – 2012).
The staff of the department actively participates in working out of instructions and clinical protocols on diagnostics and treatment of patients suffered from skin and venereal diseases.
The staff also participates in international and Republic Congresses, symposiums, conferences with their oral statements and poster presentations.
Consultations, prophylaxis and treatment The department provides organizational, methodological and consultation help to the dermatoveneological institutions of the Republic, supervises Minsk, Gomel and Mogilev regions.
Cooperation The department closely cooperates with CSRL of BelMAPO, clinical immunology laboratory of the 10th Minsk Hospital, CSRL of BGMU, the Republic Scientific Center of oncology and medical radiology named after N.N. Alexsandrov, CSRL «Mother and a child». |
