History of the department:
The department of professional pathology was founded in 1961 on the basis of the 2nd Clinical Hospital, where there were only15 professional pathologic beds at the therapeutic department.
The stuff of the department consists of curators of the allergology and professional pathology services. They carry out organizational and methodological work, educational, treatment and consultation work.
The main forms of classes – lectures, seminars, participation in scientific, clinical conferences. Practical lessons are hold in real time at hospitals with the presence of patients.
The students visit meetings of medical and expert commission, study new methods of diagnostics on the basis of 10th Clinical Hospital.
The main directions in the scientific work:
Since the time the department of allergology and professional therapy was founded 4 DPhils and 6 Candidate’s dissertations have been written. At present the department carries out researches on the following topics:
• Peculiarities of the course and measures in teenager medical rehabilitation. Teenagers with bronchial asthma
• Specific immunotherapy of allegoric diseases
• Peculiarities of pathology formation of respiratory organs under the influence of industrial pollutants
