 The department was formed in 1945, at first as a course “Organization of Healthcare and health sanitary inspection”, then as an independent department “Organization of Healthcare” (1947). In 1953 the department was abolished and resumed its work 1959, in 2001 the department got the name “Department of Public Health and Healthcare Management”.
The main lines of scientific work: improvement of the system of medical rehabilitation and substantiation of new organizational forms of its activities, improvement of the system of primary health care, development of the model of a GP, organization of medical care to the population.
The main base of the department is situated in the building of BelMAPO (floor 7, 5). Different healthcare organizations are widely used for practical studies: outpatient clinics, in-patient departments of hospitals, emergency hospital, diagnostic centre, T.B. clinic, etc.
The basic lines of postgraduate training at the department:
- Retraining and professional development of the managers of public health and healthcare;
- Professional development in organization of nurse business;
- Professional development in pedagogics, psychology and foreign languages;
- Professional development in information science for the doctors-statisticians and doctors of organizational-methodological rooms at health-care establishments;
- Training of residents on the following disciplines: information science, foreign languages;
- Training of graduate students and candidates on the disciplines of information science, foreign languages and philosophy
The basic forms of the studies are lectures, seminars, practical studies at the bases of the department.
Great work is done by the staff of the department on giving practical assistance to healthcare system of the Republic of Belarus. |
