The clinical base of the department is Minsk Regional Child Clinical Hospital in Lesnoy.It is a modern well-equipped multisectoral pediatric complex, which includes a hospital (department of newborn’s pathology, department of newborn’s and children of early ages, pediatric department with allergology, gastroenterological and endocrinological beds, pulmonological, cardio rheumatologic, nephrological department, department of intensive therapy and resuscitation, a number of surgical departments, two neurologic departments) and consultation polyclinic.
The department provides: advanced training in different fields of pediatrics, postgraduate courses ? residency.
The department always develops method of teaching. The classes are of different forms — review clinical lectures, complex lectures, different seminars (discussions, clinical discussions about patients), conferences with discussions of essays, clinic-anatomic conferences, work in hospital, outpatients’ clinic.
Scientific work
The main directions of scientific work at the department are: allergology, pulmonology, osteoporosis, cardiology, rehabilitation of children with the main somatic diseases. The staff developed norms of ECG of healthy children of different ages, norms of phonocardiogram, ballistocardiography, central and peripheral hemodynamics. Since 1975 the department has been in charge of the problem of arterial hypertension among children. ABP standards have been developed with children and teenagers.
The department makes researches in infantile allergology. Professor Vasylevsky I.V., Doctor of Medical Sciences Zhernosek V.F. have analyzed prevalence of allergic diseases with children of the Republic, there is a development of genetic aspects of bronchial asthma with children and adolescents, problems of etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations of the main allergic diseases and acute allergic reactions, approaches to the treatment and rehabilitation of children and adolescents with chronic allergic diseases.
The staff of the department makes treatment and consultation work.
