History of the department:
The department was organized in 1981. A.K.Ustinovich, an associate professor, became head of the department. The department together with the Republican Scientific and Research Center “Mother and a child” created the Republican Scientific and Practical Center in the field of perinatology. At present the department is headed by professor A.G.Shishko.
Main directions of the scientific work:
• Clinic-metabolic and endocrinological aspects of adaptation disorders and their correction with premature children at hypoxic conditions at early neonatal period;
• Early neonatal mortality and organizational measures to lower it in the Republic of Belarus;
• Adaptation of infants from multiple pregnancy;
• Perinatal factor influence on early incapacitation hypotrophic children and its prophylaxis
Additional possibilities of the department:
The system of advanced training courses includes: thematic circles of advanced training; training of doctors in hospitals to master perinatal technologies. Lessons in hospitals with ward rounds, analysis of lethality and practical help in implementation of new diagnostic and treatment methods.
