The Technical Methods of Teaching and Information Technologies Department was founded by reorganization of the Computer Technologies Laboratory in correspondence with the order of the Rector ? 189 from the 11 of July 2000. In 2005 the Technical Methods of Teaching and Information Technologies Department was reorganized into the Information Technologies Center. Presently, the head of the Center is Alexander V. Staheyko.
The main tasks of the Center are:
- Implementation of up-to-date computer and Internet technologies into the teaching process of the academy;
- Securing of the computer and Internet classes stable work;
- Service and repairing of the BelMAPGE computers;
- Assistance to the pedagogical staff while preparing demonstrative materials, presentations, lectures and reports;
- Automation of all structures of the Academy;
- Carrying out and information support of scientific and practical conferences.
Currently in the academy there are more than 434 PCs, 90 laser printers, 29 copying machines, more than 49 multi-media over-heads, video and digital photocameras, scanner able to scan transparent materials, as well as other modern equipment.
In 2004-2006 thanks to the Rector of the Academy Professor G.Y. Khulup were open 3 new computer classes, where every employee of the Academy can for free:
- work in Internet;
- make ready demonstration materials, presentations, lectures and reports according to the modern requirements with the help of highly qualified specialists;
- read Internet version of Blackwell Publishing journals (873 journals and more than 867000 articles on medicine, technique and others disciplines);
- use the information service SpringerLink, that give the access to more than 1200 e-journals in science, technique, medicine etc.
 
For the last 2 years the staff of the Center elaborated the following program complex:
- Database “Count of PhD students, residents and foreign citizen who were studying in BelMAPGE”
- Database “Count of BelMAPGE staff”
- Database “Count of certifications and diplomas, giving out in BelMAPGE”
- Database “Graduates of 2 years course “Management in Public Health”
- Tests control of knowledge of doctors and nurses, taking the examination for qualification category.
The stuff of Center elaborated and installed in BelMAPGE a cordless system for access to local net and Internet need for the translation of international and republican conferences and seminars.
The system of distance learning was installed in the urology and nephrology, surgery, otolaryngology departments of belMAPGE. It permit to listeners to communicate with surgeon, performing an operation.
 
 The stuff of Center elaborated the web-site of BelMAPGE. This site took the second place on Internet-prize “Tibo 2006” in nomination “Education and science”. It was choose among more than 40 Belarusian educational and scientific sites.
