About the Department:
Department of doctoral candidacy, PhD course and clinical residency is an organization department of BelMAPO and was created for the purpose of management of doctoral candidacy, PhD course and clinical residency.
The main functions of the department: assistance in and control of preparation of theses by postgraduate students, doctoral candidates and seekers; organization of work on fulfilling individual plans and training programs by residents from among foreign citizens and citizens of the Republic of Belarus. This work results in training of highly skilled specialists for independent work in health-care establishments of the Republic of Belarus and abroad.
Doctoral candidacy is one of the steps of post-graduate education having the aim of training highly qualified scientists with conferring a degree of Doctor of Medicine.
To be admitted to doctoral candidacy one should have the degree of candidate of medical science and scientific studies (research papers, monographs, inventions, patents and other materials that confirm the contribution to science). These materials should be the basis for doctoral thesis with the possibility to complete it in 3 years. Training at doctoral candidacy is conducted in the form of full-time tuition. The period of training in doctoral residency shouldn’t exceed three years.
PhD course is a constituent part of a uniform national system of continuous education and a basic form of systematic training of highly qualified staff. PhD course includes advanced study of general scientific disciplines, general theoretic and special courses, passing qualifying examinations and credits for the Candidate’s degree, mastering methods and means of scientific research in accordance with the selected speciality on the actual topic, systematization and generalization of the acquired results in order to prepare and to defend candidate’s thesis.
Admission to PhD course is held annually. ????? ? ??????????? ?????????????? ????????. Regulations and terms of admission to PhD course are set by the Ministry of Health o0f the Republic of Belarus. By the order of the rector of BelMAPO a selection committee is created to organize the admission to PhD courses.
Terms of admission and training at doctoral candidacy and PhD course for foreign citizens are regulated by interstate agreements, contacts with foreign organizations or by agreements between foreign citizens and BelMAPO.
Qualifying examinations for thee Candidate’s degree can be passed during the examinations session – twice a year (from 15.11. to 15.12. and from 15.04. to 15.05.). Applications for passing qualifying examinations are accepted not later than 10 days before the examinations session starts.
Clinical residency is the highest form of professional development of doctors on the basis of BelMAPO. Admission to the clinical residency is conducted on the competitive basis.
Terms of admission to the clinical residency are set by BelMAPO with the concurrence of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
Residents who successfully passed the exams are issued a corresponding certificate. |
